Negar Siyari
Applied linguist working at the intersection of language, AI, and equity.
I'm an applied linguist and educator. I help language learners — especially refugees and newcomers — build the language and AI skills they need to thrive, and I research how that learning actually happens in the classroom.
In short
What I do
My work connects applied linguistics, refugee and newcomer education, curriculum design, and equitable access to generative AI.
Language learning
I design instruction around real tasks, adult learners' goals, and the social conditions that shape access to language education.
AI literacy
I study and teach AI use as a practical language skill: prompting, evaluating output, revising, and knowing when to seek human support.
Newcomer education
I focus on refugee and newcomer learners — especially adults navigating work, education, and community life in a new language.
Let's connect.
I'm always glad to talk about language, AI literacy, and teaching. The best way to reach me is LinkedIn.
